Helen Thompson: podcast appearances and interviews

Helen Thompson is a certified baby massage instructor and childcare educator. While she is known for her expertise in early childhood development, she is also an academic affiliated with Cambridge University where she has been working since 1994. Thompson is a member of the Department of Politics and International Studies at Cambridge, and she is a fellow of Clare College. Her research interests include the political economy of energy as well as the historical, democratic, economic, and geopolitical disruptions of the current century. In addition to her academic work, Thompson has contributed to public discourse through podcasting, co-hosting the Talking Politics podcast with David Runciman and the UnHerd podcast These Times. Her influence in progressive politics was recognized in 2024 when the New Statesman listed her 48th on The Left Power List, a guide to the most influential figures in the field.
