Graham George Linehan, born in May 1968, is an Irish comedy writer known for creating and co-creating several prominent sitcoms. His notable works include Father Ted, Black Books, The IT Crowd, Count Arthur Strong, and the sketch comedy show Big Train. He has also contributed to other comedy programs such as The Fast Show, The Day Today, and Brass Eye. During the 1990s, Linehan collaborated with Arthur Mathews on projects including Father Ted and Big Train. He has received multiple awards for his work, including five BAFTAs, two for Best Comedy for Father Ted and one for Best Writer in Comedy for The IT Crowd. Additionally, he was awarded an International Emmy in 2008 for The IT Crowd. In recent years, Linehan has become involved in anti-transgender activism. His activism was sparked after criticism of an episode of The IT Crowd was perceived as transphobic. He has expressed concerns that transgender activism endangers women and has made controversial comparisons, including equating the use of puberty blockers to Nazi eugenics.
