Glenn James Maxwell, born on 14 October 1988, is an Australian professional cricketer who plays for the Australia national cricket team in Twenty20 Internationals. He also represents Victoria in domestic cricket and the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League. As a right-handed all-rounder, Maxwell is recognized for his unorthodox batting style and versatile bowling, initially bowling medium pace before switching to off-spin at a young age. He gained prominence in 2011 after setting a record for the fastest half-century in Australian domestic one-day cricket, scoring 51 runs from 19 balls. This achievement led to his international debut in an ODI against Afghanistan in 2012, followed by his T20I debut a month later against Pakistan, and his Test debut the following year against India. As of 2026, Maxwell has played seven Test matches, 149 ODIs, and 130 T20Is, the most T20I matches of any Australian player. Throughout his career, Maxwell has held numerous international batting records. Notably, he became the second Australian to score centuries in all three formats of international cricket after scoring 104 against India in 2017. He shares with Rohit Sharma the record for the most career T20I centuries, with five each.
