Gil Moore, born on February 12, 1953, in Toronto, is a Canadian musician best known as the drummer and co-founder of the band Triumph. Prior to forming Triumph, he was a member of the band Sherman & Peabody, which included Buzz Shearman and Greg Godovitz. In Triumph, Moore shared vocal duties with guitarist and vocalist Rik Emmett and contributed to songwriting, often singing lead on various tracks. His vocal and writing style is characterized by a blues and hard rock influence, in contrast to Emmett's more melodic approach. Over time, Moore also began performing lead vocals on softer, ballad-style songs during Triumph's later albums. Beyond his performance career, Moore is the owner of Metalworks Studios in Mississauga, Ontario, which is Canada's largest recording studio. The studio has been operational for over four decades and has hosted recordings by numerous artists including Drake, Guns N' Roses, the Cranberries, Katy Perry, Black Eyed Peas, and the Jonas Brothers. Moore serves as the CEO of Metalworks Studios, Metalworks Production Group, and Metalworks Institute, overseeing a range of music production and educational initiatives.
