George Will: podcast appearances and interviews

George Frederick Will, born on May 4, 1941, is an American writer and political commentator known for his libertarian conservative perspective. He regularly writes columns for The Washington Post and provides commentary for NewsNation. In 1977, he was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for Commentary, and in 1986, The Wall Street Journal described him as perhaps the most powerful journalist in America. Will has been a prominent figure in political journalism, having supported Ronald Reagan during his 1980 presidential campaign by assisting with debate preparation. He was also involved in the Debategate scandal, in which he was falsely accused of providing Reagan with a classified briefing book; the allegation was later retracted by Jimmy Carter. Over the years, Will has become a critic of several Republican politicians, including Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, and Donald Trump. His disapproval of Trump's campaign in 2016 led him to become an independent voter. He has publicly expressed support for Democratic candidates in recent elections, having voted for Joe Biden in 2020 and indicating in September 2024 that he would be voting for Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election.
