George Monbiot: podcast appearances and interviews

George Joshua Richard Monbiot, born on 27 January 1963, is an English journalist, author, and environmental and political activist. He writes a regular column for The Guardian and has authored several books. Monbiot grew up in Oxfordshire within a Jewish family and studied zoology at the University of Oxford. He began his career in investigative journalism, publishing his first book, Poisoned Arrows, in 1989, which focused on human rights issues in West Papua. Over the years, he has become involved in activism and advocacy surrounding various issues including climate change, British politics, and loneliness. In his 2013 book, Feral, he discussed and endorsed the expansion of rewilding practices. Monbiot is also the founder of The Land is Ours, a campaign advocating for the right of access to the countryside and its resources in the United Kingdom. His work has been recognized with several awards, including the Global 500 award in 1995 and the Orwell Prize in 2022.
