Fei Fei Li: podcast appearances and interviews

Fei-Fei Li is a Chinese-born American computer scientist and a professor of computer science at Stanford University. Her research expertise encompasses artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, and cognitive neuroscience. She is best known for establishing ImageNet, a large-scale dataset that propelled significant advancements in computer vision during the 2010s. Li is a co-director of the Stanford Institute for Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence and the Stanford Vision and Learning Lab. She has held prominent roles including Chief Scientist of AI and machine learning at Google Cloud and director of the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Laboratory from 2013 to 2018. She co-founded AI4ALL, a nonprofit organization dedicated to increasing diversity within the AI field. Her contributions to artificial intelligence have been recognized with awards such as the Intel Lifetime Achievements Innovation Award in 2017. Li has been elected to multiple prestigious organizations, including the National Academy of Engineering, the National Academy of Medicine, and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences. In 2023, she was named one of the Time 100 AI Most Influential People. She was appointed to the United Nations Scientific Advisory Board in August 2023. In addition to her academic and advisory roles, she has led significant fundraising efforts for startups, including raising $230 million in 2024 and $1 billion in 2026 for World Labs, a company she co-founded focused on developing spatial intelligence AI technology.
