Dweezil Zappa, born Ian Donald Calvin Euclid Zappa on September 5, 1969, is an American rock guitarist and occasional actor. As the son of musical composer and performer Frank Zappa, he was exposed to the music industry at an early age. Zappa developed a strong affinity for guitar playing and music production, and he was able to learn directly from renowned guitarists such as Steve Vai and Eddie Van Halen. He released his first single at the age of 12, which was produced by Eddie Van Halen. In addition to creating and recording his own music, Zappa has maintained his father's musical legacy by touring with the band Zappa Plays Zappa. The group features renditions of Frank Zappa's original material and has often included former band members such as Napoleon Murphy Brock, Steve Vai, and Terry Bozzio.
