Daniel Brown, born on December 25, 1945, is the vice president of DCB Physical Therapy. He is a Knoxville native and a graduate of Austin High School. Brown attended Tennessee State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in history. He is a veteran of the Vietnam War and a retiree of the U.S. Postal Service. Brown has previously served as a city councilman and was the acting mayor of Knoxville, Tennessee, making history as the first African American to hold the mayoral position in the city. He was appointed to serve as mayor following the resignation of Bill Haslam, who stepped down to pursue his campaign for governor. Brown did not seek a full term as mayor but continued to serve on the city council. His tenure as mayor was a notable milestone in the city’s history, and he was succeeded by Madeline Rogero.
