Alan Olav Walker, born 24 August 1997, is a Norwegian DJ and record producer who is known for his house music style characterized by emotionally rich and grandiose melodies. Growing up in Fana, Bergen, Norway, Walker began making music around 2012 and initially gained recognition by sharing his work on YouTube and SoundCloud. He started as a bedroom producer and was known as DJ Walkzz before signing a record deal. His debut single, Fade, was released on NoCopyrightSounds at age 17. Walker is notable for his multi-platinum-certified hits such as Faded, Sing Me to Sleep, Alone, All Falls Down, Ignite, and Darkside, and for reaching number one on Norwegian charts and charting highly internationally. His single Faded reached number 80 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and was certified triple platinum by the RIAA. Walker released his debut studio album, Different World, in 2018, which topped Norwegian and Finnish charts and charted in Sweden and Switzerland. Subsequent albums include World of Walker in 2021, Walkerverse Pt. I & II in 2022, Walkerworld in 2023, and Walkerworld 2.0 in 2025. Throughout his career, Walker has received multiple awards including three MTV Europe Music Awards, three Electronic Dance Music Awards, and two Spellemannprisen.
