Donna Lease Brazile is an American political strategist, campaign manager, and political analyst. She has served twice as acting Chair of the Democratic National Committee. Brazile has been involved in numerous presidential campaigns, including acting as campaign manager for Al Gore in 2000, making her the first African-American woman to direct a major presidential campaign. Her political career has included work on campaigns for Democratic candidates such as Jesse Jackson, Walter Mondale, Geraldine Ferraro, and Dick Gephardt. Brazile has also held roles on various media outlets, currently contributing to ABC News. She previously contributed to Fox News until her resignation in May 2021 and was a CNN contributor prior to her departure in October 2016. Her resignation from CNN followed the revelation by WikiLeaks that she shared two debate questions with Hillary Clinton's campaign during the 2016 United States presidential election. Throughout her career, Brazile has held significant leadership roles within the Democratic Party, including serving as acting chair of the DNC in spring 2011 and again from July 2016 to February 2017.
