Donald McKinley Glover Jr. born on September 25, 1983, is an American actor, rapper, singer, comedian, and filmmaker. He studied at New York University and initially worked with Derrick Comedy before being hired by Tina Fey to write for the NBC sitcom 30 Rock at age 23. Glover gained prominence for his role as Troy Barnes on the NBC sitcom Community, which he portrayed from 2009 to 2014. He also created the FX series Atlanta, which aired from 2016 to 2022. In addition to starring in the show, he occasionally directed episodes. His work on Atlanta earned him several awards, including two Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. As an actor, Glover has appeared in various films such as The Lazarus Effect, Magic Mike XXL, The Martian, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Solo: A Star Wars Story. He lent his voice to adult Simba in The Lion King and produced and starred in the short film Guava Island. Glover co-created the television series Swarm and is recognized as an inspiration for the creation of the Marvel Comics character Miles Morales, whom he also briefly voiced in animated series. In 2024, he created and starred in the Prime Video series Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and in 2026, he was announced to voice Yoshi in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie.
