Thomas Stanley Holland, born on June 1, 1996, is an English actor known for his roles in both film and television. His career began at the age of nine when he enrolled in a dancing class, leading to a supporting role in Billy Elliot the Musical at London's Victoria Palace Theatre. He later played the title role in the production until 2010. Holland made his film debut in the disaster drama The Impossible in 2012, for which he received critical acclaim and a Goya Award nomination for Best New Actor. Following this, he appeared in films such as How I Live Now and played historical figures in In the Heart of the Sea and the television miniseries Wolf Hall. Holland gained international recognition for portraying Peter Parker or Spider-Man in six Marvel Cinematic Universe films, beginning with Captain America: Civil War in 2016. He received the BAFTA Rising Star Award in 2017 and became the youngest actor to play a title role in an MCU film with Spider-Man: Homecoming. The sequels, Far From Home and No Way Home, each grossed over a billion dollars worldwide, with the latter becoming the highest-grossing film of 2021. Besides his role as Spider-Man, Holland starred in action films such as Uncharted and took on against-type roles in crime dramas including The Devil All the Time and Cherry. He has also directed a short film titled Tweet and lent his voice to animated features such as Spies in Disguise and Onward.
