Hans Dolph Lundgren is a Swedish-American actor, filmmaker, and martial artist born on November 3, 1957. He gained recognition for portraying the Soviet boxer Ivan Drago in Rocky IV in 1985, a role he reprised in Creed II in 2018. Lundgren has appeared in over 80 action films, including roles in Masters of the Universe, Red Scorpion, The Punisher, I Come in Peace, Showdown in Little Tokyo, Joshua Tree, Men of War, Silent Trigger, and Blackjack. He is known for playing villainous characters such as Sergeant Andrew Scott in three Universal Soldier films, co-starring Jean-Claude Van Damme. During the 2000s, Lundgren mostly acted in direct-to-video films and began directing and starring in his own projects, including The Defender, The Mechanik, Missionary Man, and Command Performance. He returned to mainstream prominence in 2010 with his role as Gunner Jensen in Sylvester Stallone's The Expendables and its sequels. His recent work includes films like Aquaman and Castle Falls, which he also directed, as well as Don't Kill It and Showdown at the Grand. He has also appeared in television series such as SAF3 and Arrow, and has lent his voice to productions including Seal Team and Minions: The Rise of Gru. Lundgren holds a degree in chemical engineering from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology obtained in the early 1980s and a master's degree from the University of Sydney in 1982. A martial artist since age 16, he is a fourth dan black belt in Kyokushin karate and was European champion in 1980 and 1981.
