Djimon Hounsou: podcast appearances and interviews

Djimon Gaston Hounsou is a Beninese-American actor born on April 24, 1964. He began his career appearing in music videos before making his film debut in Without You I am Nothing in 1990. Hounsou gained widespread recognition for his role as Cinqué in the film Amistad directed by Steven Spielberg, which earned him a Golden Globe nomination. He was also nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performances in In America (2002) and Blood Diamond (2006). In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he portrays Korath the Pursuer in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014), Captain Marvel (2019), and What If...? (2021). Additionally, he appears as the Fisherman King in the DC Extended Universe films Aquaman (2018), Shazam! (2019), Black Adam (2022), and Shazam! Fury of the Gods (2023). His filmography includes notable titles such as Stargate (1994), Gladiator (2000), Constantine (2005), The Island (2005), and Furious 7 (2015). He has also voiced characters in animated films like How to Train Your Dragon 2 (2014) and appeared in recent projects such as A Quiet Place Part II (2021), Gran Turismo, and Rebel Moon parts one and two scheduled for 2023 and 2024 respectively. Besides acting, Hounsou made his directorial debut with the documentary In Search of Voodoo: Roots to Heaven in 2018.
