Derrick Richard White, born on July 2, 1994, is an American professional basketball player currently playing for the Boston Celtics in the National Basketball Association. He played three years of college basketball in Division II for the Colorado–Colorado Springs Mountain Lions before transferring to Division I's Colorado Buffaloes for his final year. White was selected 29th overall in the 2017 NBA draft by the San Antonio Spurs. He was traded to the Celtics in February 2022 and became a key contributor during their run to the 2022 NBA Finals. White established himself as a starter in the 2022–23 season and earned selections to the NBA All-Defensive Team in that season and the following one. In 2024, he secured his first NBA championship as part of the Celtics squad that defeated the Dallas Mavericks in five games during the NBA Finals. Additionally, White won a gold medal as a member of the 2024 U.S. Olympic team.
