David Perry: podcast appearances and interviews

David Perry, born on April 4, 1967, is a video game developer and programmer from Northern Ireland. He gained recognition for his work programming platform games for 16-bit home consoles during the early to mid-1990s. Notably, Perry was involved in the development of titles such as Disney's Aladdin, Cool Spot, and the Earthworm Jim series. He founded Shiny Entertainment, where he was employed from 1993 until 2006, and contributed to creating games for various companies including Disney, 7 Up, McDonald's, Hemdale, and Warner Bros. Perry's contributions to computer gaming were honored in 2008 when he received an honorary doctorate from Queen's University Belfast. Beyond game development, he co-founded Gaikai, a cloud-based games service that was eventually acquired by Sony Computer Entertainment. Later, Perry became the co-founder and CEO of GoVYRL, Inc., a startup focused on customer intelligence, where he developed a new brand dashboard called Carro. Currently, he is recognized as the Civilian Graphic Designer of the Year and is affiliated with New Hanover County schools.
