David Leon: podcast appearances and interviews

David Jeremy Leon, born on 24 July 1980, is an English actor, director, writer, and producer. As an actor, he appeared in the 2002 feature film Lives of the Saints, directed by Rankin and Chris Cottam, portraying the character Othello. He also appeared in Guy Ritchie's 2008 film RocknRolla as Malcolm. Leon co-starred alongside Brenda Blethyn in the ITV detective series Vera from 2011 to 2014, and he returned to the series in 2024. In addition to his acting career, Leon has directed short films; his 2010 directorial debut, Man and Boy, co-directed with Marcus McSweeney, won the best narrative short award at the Tribeca Film Festival. His 2012 short Orthodox was an entry at the 58th BFI London Film Festival and served as the basis for his first feature film, also titled Orthodox, which was released in 2015.
