David Gauke: podcast appearances and interviews

Sir David Michael Gauke is a British political commentator, solicitor, and former politician who served as the Member of Parliament for South West Hertfordshire from 2005 to 2019. He held various senior roles within the UK government, including Exchequer Secretary to the Treasury from 2010 to 2014 and Financial Secretary to the Treasury from 2014 to 2016. During the formation of the May government in July 2016, Gauke was appointed to the Cabinet as Chief Secretary to the Treasury, a position he held until he became Secretary of State for Work and Pensions in 2017. In January 2018, he was appointed Secretary of State for Justice and Lord Chancellor, serving until his resignation on 24 July 2019 following the Conservative Party leadership election. Gauke was initially elected as a Conservative but had the Conservative whip removed on 3 September 2019, after which he sat as an independent politician until the dissolution of Parliament. As of recent years, he is known for his work in public policy and commentary related to his extensive experience in UK politics and governance.
