David A. Bednar: podcast appearances and interviews

David Allan Bednar, born on June 15, 1952, is a member of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is recognized within the church as a prophet, seer, and revelator. Prior to his ecclesiastical service, Bednar was an educator and served as the president of Brigham Young University–Idaho from 1997 to 2004. He was sustained as a member of the Quorum of the Twelve on October 2, 2004, when he was 52 years old, making him the youngest person appointed to that body since 1984. He was ordained an apostle on October 7, 2004, by church president Gordon B. Hinckley. Bednar and Dieter F. Uchtdorf joined the Quorum to fill the vacancies left by the deaths of quorum members David B. Haight and Neal A. Maxwell in July 2004. As an apostle, he is within the church's hierarchy as the fourth most senior member.
