Dave Scott, born January 4, 1954, is the Research and Restoration Coordinator for the Lower Fraser Salmon Program. He has a notable background as a professional triathlete and is recognized as the first person to win the Ironman World Championship six times, with victories in 1980, 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986, and 1987. Scott is considered a pioneer in the sport of triathlon and was the first inductee into the Ironman Hall of Fame in 1993. Known by the nickname 'The Man,' he gained fame for his intense training regimens and consistent race performances, which set a record number of wins in his era.
