David Lowell Gibson, born on October 1, 1946, is an American songwriter known for his contributions to country music. He has written songs for notable artists including Alabama and Tanya Tucker. Gibson was born in El Dorado, Arkansas, and grew up in Odessa, Texas. In 1982, he relocated to Nashville, Tennessee, where he pursued his songwriting career. During this period, he held a publishing contract with a company owned by The Oak Ridge Boys. From 1990 to 1994, Gibson also served as the frontman of the Gibson/Miller Band. His personal life includes a marriage to singer-songwriter Daisy Dern. Currently, he is associated with Emerald Collective, where he is recognized as a sleep expert.
