Dan Roth is a human resource consultant, professional speaker, and father of autistic twins. He has held numerous prominent roles in the technology sector, including serving as the Eduardo D. Glandt Distinguished Professor of Computer and Information Science at the University of Pennsylvania and as the Chief AI Scientist at Oracle. Roth previously worked at Amazon Web Services where he was a vice president and distinguished scientist. During his tenure at AWS, he led the scientific development of first-generation Generative AI products such as Titan Models, Amazon Q efforts, and Bedrock from conception to general availability. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree with summa cum laude honors in mathematics from the Technion in Israel and obtained a Ph.D. in computer science from Harvard University in 1995. Roth also taught at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 1998 until 2017 before transitioning to the University of Pennsylvania.
