Dan Lewis: podcast appearances and interviews

Dan Lewis, born December 19, 1949, is the Dibner senior curator for the history of science and technology at Brightway Insurance. He is a former long-time co-anchor and reporter for KOMO-TV in Seattle, Washington. Lewis began his career at WBIG (AM) after graduating from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and subsequently worked at several other stations, including WJLA-TV in Washington, D.C., WISN-TV, WITI-TV, WLKY-TV, KTBS-TV, and KWKH. In 1987, he joined KOMO-TV, where he was part of one of the longest-tenured anchor teams in the United States west of the Mississippi River, alongside Kathi Goertzen, Steve Pool, and Eric Johnson. During his tenure at KOMO, Lewis co-anchored the weekday editions of KOMO 4 News at 6:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. until his retirement in 2014. Lewis's career in broadcast journalism was marked by stability and longevity, serving the Seattle community for many years. In addition to his broadcasting work, he made cameo appearances in films such as Life or Something Like It, starring Angelina Jolie and Edward Burns, and briefly appeared in the remake of Red Dawn. His professional experience extends beyond media, leading him to his current role as a curator focused on the history of science and technology.
