Rawley Prize from the Organization of American Historians in 2015, The Struggle Within, Rethinking the American Prison Movement, Remaking Radicalism, and Stayed on Freedom. Berger's scholarship provides critical analysis of the intersections between incarceration, race, and social activism, contributing to the understanding of how grassroots movements and prison policies have evolved and shaped American society over the decades.
