Daisy Pearce: podcast appearances and interviews

Daisy Pearce, born on 27 May 1988, is an Australian rules football coach, media personality, and former player. She played for the Melbourne Football Club in the AFL Women's from 2017 until season 7 and is currently the AFLW senior coach of the West Coast Eagles. Pearce is recognized as a pioneer of women's Australian rules football and as a prominent figure in the AFLW. She was the first player to return to AFLW level play after giving birth and continued her playing career in various positions for four additional seasons. In 2025, she was inducted into the Australian Football Hall of Fame. Pearce's playing career began with the Darebin Falcons in the Victorian Women's Football League and VFL Women's, where she played from 2005 to 2017 and served as captain from 2008 to 2016. She achieved significant success, including ten premierships, seven as captain, and was a two-time Lisa Hardeman Medallist. Pearce was also a seven-time league best and fairest winner and received the inaugural VFL Women's best and fairest award in 2016. She was recruited by Melbourne as the first pick in the inaugural national women's draft in 2013 and served as captain during the early AFLW exhibition games. As a marquee signing, she led Melbourne for all six AFLW seasons she played, earning multiple accolades such as three AFLW All-Australian selections and leading the team to its first AFLW premiership in season 7. Transitioning into coaching after retirement, Pearce was a development coach at Geelong in 2023 and has been the West Coast Eagles AFLW senior coach since 2024, guiding the team to its first finals appearance in 2025. Alongside her football career, Pearce has built a reputation as a media personality, working as an expert commentator and boundary rider for Seven Network and 1116 SEN, earning recognition including an AFMA award.
