Cynthia Nixon is an American actress, activist, and theatre director. She has received numerous accolades, including two Primetime Emmy Awards, two Tony Awards, and a Grammy Award, making her one of the few entertainers to achieve an EGOT, which encompasses winning three of the four major American entertainment awards. Nixon is perhaps best known for her role as Miranda Hobbes in the HBO series Sex and the City, which aired from 1998 to 2004, as well as its related films. She has also appeared in the television show And Just Like That and other notable series. Nixon made her Broadway debut in the 1980 revival of The Philadelphia Story and went on to win Tony Awards for her performances in Rabbit Hole and The Little Foxes.
