Carrie Alexandra Coon, born January 24, 1981, is an American actress acclaimed for her work across television, film, and stage. She gained prominence through leading roles in various prestige television dramas, including her breakthrough performance as a widow in the series The Leftovers, for which she received the Critics' Choice Television Award. Her television career also includes notable roles such as a police chief in Fargo, a matriarch in The Gilded Age, and a divorced lawyer in The White Lotus, all of which garnered her Primetime Emmy Award nominations. Coon made her film debut with a role in Gone Girl in 2014 and has since appeared in several other films including The Post, Widows, The Nest, Boston Strangler, and His Three Daughters.
