Juan Cristóbal Tapia de Veer, born on October 18, 1973, is a Chilean and Canadian composer, arranger, producer, and multi-instrumentalist based in Montreal, Quebec. He is recognized for his work in film and television scoring. De Veer has garnered several awards for his compositions, including multiple Primetime Emmy Awards for his work on the American television series The White Lotus. He received a Royal Television Society award in 2013 for his score for the British TV series Utopia. His work on the Quebec series Série Noire earned him Prix Gémeaux awards in 2014 and 2016. In 2017, he was awarded a BAFTA for his original score for UK Channel 4's National Treasure. His film scoring includes the 2016 movie The Girl with All the Gifts, for which he won best original score at the Festival international du film fantastique de Gérardmer. De Veer has also received awards from the Society of Composers, Authors and Music Publishers of Canada in 2013 and 2017, highlighting his distinguished career in music composition across multiple productions and countries.
