Christine Ebersole, born on February 21, 1953, is an American actress, singer, and comedian. She has appeared in film, television, and on stage, and has received significant recognition for her work in theatre. Ebersole has won two Tony Awards for Best Actress in a Musical, one for her role as a prima donna in the revival of 42nd Street in 2001 and another for her dual roles as Edith Bouvier Beale and Edith Ewing Bouvier Beale in the musical Grey Gardens in 2006. She was also nominated for a Tony for her performance as a society matron in Dinner at Eight in 2003 and for her portrayal of Elizabeth Arden in War Paint in 2017. Her stage debut was in the play Angel Street in 1975. In film, Ebersole made her debut with a minor role in Tootsie in 1982 and later appeared as Caterina Cavalieri in the acclaimed biographical film Amadeus in 1984. Her cinematic credits include Mac and Me, Dead Again, Richie Rich, Black Sheep, True Crime, The Big Wedding, The Wolf of Wall Street, and Licorice Pizza. On television, she started with the soap opera Ryan's Hope and was a cast member of Saturday Night Live.
