Charles Murray: podcast appearances and interviews

Charles Alan Murray is the F. A. Hayek Emeritus Chair in Cultural Studies at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank located in Washington, D.C. He is also known for his work as a political scientist and as the W. H.. Brady Scholar at the institute. Murray's research has often generated significant controversy, particularly regarding American social policy and issues of intelligence. His 1984 book Losing Ground: American Social Policy, 1950–1980 examined the American welfare system. In 1994, he co-authored The Bell Curve, which posited that intelligence is a more accurate predictor than socioeconomic status or education level of many individual outcomes such as income, job performance, pregnancy out of wedlock, and crime. The book also suggested that there are at least partly genetic origins of IQ differences across racial and ethnic groups, a view that is widely discredited by mainstream science. Murray's work has played a prominent role in debates over social policy, intelligence, and race, shaping discussions in academic, political, and public spheres.
