Cain Ramírez Velásquez is an American former professional wrestler and mixed martial artist. He competed in the heavyweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship and became a two-time UFC Heavyweight Champion. Velásquez retired from mixed martial arts in 2019 and subsequently began a professional wrestling career. He initially worked for Lucha Libre AAA Worldwide, a Mexican lucha libre promotion, before joining the WWE, an American wrestling organization. His time with WWE ended in April 2020 when he was released due to budget cuts resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2022, Velásquez faced legal charges including attempted murder and gun assault after engaging in a car chase and firing at a man accused of molesting his four-year-old son. The incident resulted in the shooting hitting the man's stepfather instead. In March 2025, he was sentenced to five years in prison and four years of supervised probation. Velásquez was granted early parole and released from custody on February 15, 2026, after serving his sentence with credit for time served and participating in rehabilitative programs. His release marked the end of his incarceration period following the five-year sentence related to the 2022 incident.
