Elizabeth Jean Busy Philipps is an American actress, singer, and comedian born on June 25, 1979. She is recognized for her work on several television series, including Freaks and Geeks where she appeared from 1999 to 2000, Dawson's Creek from 2001 to 2003, and ER during 2006 and 2007. She is also known for her role as Laurie Keller on the sitcom Cougar Town, which aired on ABC and TBS from 2009 to 2015, earning her the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. In addition to her television work, Philipps has appeared in supporting roles in various films such as The Smokers, Home Room, White Chicks, Made of Honor, He's Just Not That Into You, The Gift, and I Feel Pretty. From 2018 to 2019, she hosted her own talk show, Busy Tonight, on E!. Between 2021 and 2024, she starred on the series Girls5eva, a collaborative project between Peacock and Netflix.
