Brian Philip Welch, born on June 19, 1970, is an American musician known for his role as a guitarist. He is a founding member of the nu metal band Korn and also provides vocals for his solo project Love and Death. Welch contributed to shaping Korn's signature sound, characterized by dissonant guitar effects and down-tuned riffs, which played a significant role in defining the nu metal genre that emerged in the mid-1990s. In 2005, Welch left Korn after becoming a Christian, choosing to focus on his personal life as a father and to pursue a solo career.
