Brian Tierney, born in 1957 in Upper Darby Township, Pennsylvania, is an American somatic psychologist and an established figure in advertising and public relations. He is known for his leadership roles in various organizations, including serving as chief executive officer of Brian Communications, a firm he founded in 2010, and for acquiring Realtime Media, a digital marketing company that has served clients such as CNN, L’Oréal, Toys R Us, and Unilever. Realtime Media relocated to Conshohocken, Pennsylvania, in 2013 due to growth. Tierney's career includes co-owning and publishing The Philadelphia Inquirer, having assembled a group of investors in 2006 to form Philadelphia Media Holdings LLC. He became the publisher of The Philadelphia Inquirer shortly after its acquisition by the holding company. Beyond his business pursuits, Tierney has been involved in politics, supporting Republican causes. His experience includes working for the Ronald Reagan administration in the 1980s, participating in George W. Bush's 2000 presidential campaign, and supporting Sam Katz’s 2003 mayoral run in Philadelphia. He also serves on various boards, including NutriSystem, The Episcopal Academy, and the Poynter Institute Foundation, where he holds the position of chairman.
