Brian Johnson, born on October 5, 1947, is an English singer and songwriter renowned for his role as the third lead singer of the Australian rock band AC/DC. He joined the band in 1980 following the death of Bon Scott and contributed to the band's highly successful albums, including the iconic Back in Black, which is considered the second-best-selling album of all time. Johnson's tenure with AC/DC has been marked by his distinctive singing voice and a strong Geordie accent, which have become signature elements of his musical persona. His transition into the band was recognized as a significant event in rock-music history, ranking number 36 on The Guardian's list of 50 key moments. In recognition of his contributions to music, Johnson was awarded an honorary Doctor of Music degree by Northumbria University in 2014. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame with AC/DC in 2003.
