Brian Greene: podcast appearances and interviews

Brian Greene is an American physicist recognized for his research on string theory. He serves as a professor of physics and mathematics at Columbia University and is the director of its center for theoretical physics. Greene is known for co-discovering mirror symmetry, which relates two different Calabi–Yau manifolds, and for describing the flop transition and conifold transition, phenomena that demonstrate the possibility of smooth topology change in string theory. He is also a bestselling author with books including The Elegant Universe, The Fabric of the Cosmos, The Hidden Reality, and Until the End of Time, all of which reached the top 10 on the New York Times bestseller list. Greene has hosted two Emmy and Peabody Award-winning NOVA miniseries based on his books and has appeared on television programs, including The Big Bang Theory, and in films such as Frequency and The Last Mimzy. In addition to his academic and media work, Greene co-founded the World Science Festival in 2008 and serves as its chairman. He has held positions on the board of overseers at Harvard University and is a member of the board of sponsors of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists.
