Brendan Gleeson, born on 29 March 1955, is an Irish actor recognized for his extensive work in film and television. His career includes supporting roles in films such as Braveheart, Michael Collins, 28 Days Later, Gangs of New York, Cold Mountain, Troy, and the Harry Potter film series. Gleeson has also played leading roles in movies including The General, In Bruges, The Guard, Calvary, and The Banshees of Inisherin. His performance in The Banshees of Inisherin earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. Throughout his career, Gleeson has received numerous accolades, among them a Primetime Emmy Award, two British Independent Film Awards, and three Irish Film and Television Awards.
