Brandon Taylor is an American writer born on June 1, 1989. He holds graduate degrees from the University of Wisconsin–Madison and the University of Iowa. Taylor has received several fellowships for his writing, which has been published in many outlets and received critical acclaim. His debut novel, Real Life, was published in 2020 and was shortlisted for the Booker Prize. In 2022, his collection of short fiction titled Filthy Animals won The Story Prize awarded annually for outstanding short story collections. He is associated with Sauna Suites as an associate producer.
