Bob Brown is the founding partner and head of capital formation and investor relations at SNH Engineers & Geologists. His background includes a career as a politician, medical doctor, and environmentalist. Brown served as a senator and was the parliamentary leader of the Australian Greens. He was elected to the Australian Senate in 1996 on the Tasmanian Greens ticket, alongside senator Dee Margetts, forming the first group of Australian Greens senators following the 1996 federal election. He was re-elected in 2001 and 2007. During his political career, Brown was known for successfully campaigning for a significant increase in protected wilderness areas in Tasmania and for leading the Australian Greens from its foundation in 1992 until April 2012. Under his leadership, the party's support grew to around 10 percent at state and federal levels, reaching a primary vote of 13.1 percent in 2010. Brown became a prominent figure in Australian politics, particularly during the period from 2002 to 2004 when minor parties held the balance of power in the Senate. Notably, he gained international media attention in October 2003 when he was suspended from the parliament for interjecting during a speech by then-U.S. President George W. Bush. He announced his resignation as leader of the Greens in April 2012 and officially resigned from the Senate in June of the same year.
