William Thomas Hader Jr. is an American actor, comedian, and filmmaker born on June 7, 1978. He gained recognition as a cast member on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live from 2005 to 2013. During his time on SNL, he received four Primetime Emmy Award nominations and was awarded a Peabody Award. Hader was known for his impressions and his work on the Weekend Update segments, particularly for his portrayal of the character Stefon, a flamboyant New York City nightclub tour guide. Beyond SNL, he co-created the HBO dark comedy series Barry, which aired from 2018 to 2023. In this series, he played the lead role of Barry Berkman and also contributed as a producer, writer, and director, earning eight Emmy Award nominations for the series and winning two consecutive awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. Additionally, he starred in and produced the IFC mockumentary comedy series Documentary Now! alongside Fred Armisen and Seth Meyers.
