Bill Gardner: podcast appearances and interviews

Bill Gardner, born in 1954 in Hornchurch, Essex, is an English football supporter and the owner and creative director of Gardner Design. He gained prominence in the 1970s as a supporter of West Ham United and was a member of the Mile End Boys and the notorious firm the I.C.F. Gardner was involved in football hooliganism during this period, which led to his arrest by the Metropolitan police in 1987 as part of Operation Fulltime, an effort to apprehend football hooligans. He has since co-authored books on football hooliganism, including an autobiography titled Good Afternoon, Gentlemen, the Name's Bill Gardner in 2005, which details his involvement in hooligan activities. Gardner was featured on the cover of Cass Pennant's 2003 book Congratulations, You Have Just Met the I. C. F., which reflects public interest in hooliganism of that era. His experiences were also depicted in the 2007 film Rise of the Footsoldier, where he was portrayed by Stuart Moore. The film portrays an incident involving Gardner and the I.C.F. fighting Manchester United supporters, an event that mirrors a real-life incident involving Gardner. In 2020, he published another autobiography, Bill Gardner: The Man, The Myth, The Legend, written with Abe Atchia, which recounts the abuses and crimes in his life.
