Sean Michael Leonard Anderson, known professionally as Big Sean, is an American rapper born on March 25, 1988. He first connected with Kanye West as a teenager and signed with West's record label GOOD Music, an imprint of Def Jam Recordings, in 2007. Big Sean gained widespread popularity after releasing his third mixtape, Finally Famous Vol. 3: Big, in 2010. His debut studio album, Finally Famous, was released in 2011, followed by Hall of Fame in 2013; both albums peaked at number three on the Billboard 200 and featured singles that charted on the Billboard Hot 100, including My Last, Marvin & Chardonnay, Dance, and Beware. His third album, Dark Sky Paradise, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 and produced the hit single I Don’t F with You, which was certified octuple platinum by the RIAA. Other singles from the album also received platinum certification. Big Sean’s fourth and fifth albums, I Decided and Detroit 2, both debuted atop the Billboard 200 chart. The single Bounce Back from I Decided became his highest-charting song, reaching number six on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2021, he dissociated from West and parted ways with GOOD Music. His sixth album, Better Me Than You, released in 2024, entered the Billboard 200 at number 25 and received mixed reviews.
