Benjamin Lee Peterson, born on June 27, 1950, is a retired American freestyle wrestler known for his success in the Olympic Games and his contributions to wrestling coaching and development. He competed at the 1972 and 1976 Olympics, earning a gold medal and a silver medal respectively. During his college career, Peterson was a two-time NCAA champion at Iowa State, establishing himself as a prominent figure in collegiate wrestling. Beyond his competitive achievements, he founded the Camp of Champs, a program that brought Olympic wrestlers to train with high school students, fostering growth in the sport. Peterson also dedicated over 28 years to coaching wrestling at Maranatha Baptist University. Currently, he serves as the CEO of Engage Your Destiny and is affiliated with the Perry Lake Hawks.
