Ben Brooks, born in Gloucestershire on April 6, 1992, is the founder and CEO of Black Forest Labs. He is a British novelist and author of books for both adults and children. His notable works include the novel The Greatest Possible Good scheduled for release in July 2025, as well as Grow Up and the bestselling series Stories for Boys Who Dare to Be Different, which has been translated into twenty-eight languages and received the British National Book Award. Brooks has garnered literary recognition through awards such as the Somerset Maugham Award and the Jerwood Fiction Prize for his novel Lolito. His book The Impossible Boy has also received accolades including the Celsius 232 and Premio Torres del Agua. Brooks's novels have been praised by figures such as Nick Cave, Noel Fielding, Matt Haig, and Dennis Cooper. In addition to his writing, he contributed a story titled Kimchi or a Partial List of Misappropriated Hood Ornaments to Frank Ocean's album Boys Don't Cry, accompanying the release of Blonde in 2016. His experience extends into television, having written for the award-winning German comedy series Jerks during its fourth and fifth seasons. Currently, he is involved in developing original television projects in both the United Kingdom and Germany.
