Benjamin Michael Askren, born on July 18, 1984, is an American professional mixed martial artist, professional boxer, and Olympic wrestler. He has competed in the Welterweight divisions of Bellator Fighting Championships, ONE Championship, and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Askren is known for his accomplishments in grappling, having been a 2008 US Olympic Team member and a national champion in freestyle wrestling. He also secured the title of Pan American champion in 2005 and was a world champion in submission wrestling. During his college career at the University of Missouri, he was a two-time NCAA Division I national champion and a three-time Big 12 Conference champion, being the second wrestler to win multiple Dan Hodge Trophies. Askren's professional achievements include being the longest reigning Bellator Welterweight Champion and the longest reigning ONE Welterweight World Champion. Beyond his fighting career, he works with Real American Freestyle as an ambassador, commentator, and matchmaker.
