Belinda Carlisle: podcast appearances and interviews

Belinda Jo Carlisle, born on August 17, 1958, is an American singer and songwriter known for her role as the lead vocalist of the band the Go-Go's. She co-founded the band in 1978, and their debut album, Beauty and the Beat, released in 1981, was influential in popularizing new wave music in the United States. The Go-Go's achieved commercial success with over seven million records sold worldwide. Following their breakup in 1985, Carlisle embarked on a solo career characterized by hits such as Mad About You, I Get Weak, Circle in the Sand, Leave a Light On, Summer Rain, and Heaven Is a Place on Earth. The band reformed in 1999, and Carlisle continued her solo pursuits while performing with the Go-Go's until their final disbandment in 2022. She made guest appearances during a limited reunion in 2025. Carlisle authored Lips Unsealed, a memoir published in June 2010, which became a New York Times Best Seller. Her contributions to music have been recognized with numerous accolades, including a ranking by VH1 as one of the 100 Greatest Women of Rock & Roll, a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, and inclusion into the California Hall of Fame in 2024.
