Annie Potts: podcast appearances and interviews

Anne Hampton Potts is an American actress born on October 28, 1952. She received a Golden Globe Award nomination for her role in Corvette Summer in 1978 and won a Genie Award for Heartaches in 1981. Potts is known for her appearances in the Ghostbusters franchise, including the films Ghostbusters (1984) and Ghostbusters II (1989). She also starred in Pretty in Pink (1986), Jumpin' Jack Flash (1986), and Who's Harry Crumb? (1989). In addition to her film work, she voiced Bo Peep in the Toy Story franchise from 1995 to 1999 and again from 2019 onward, as well as in various Disney video games. On television, Potts played Mary Jo Jackson Shively on the CBS sitcom Designing Women, a role she held from 1986 to 1993. She was nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 1994 for her performance as Dana Palladino on the CBS sitcom Love & War, which aired from 1993 to 1995. Potts also appeared as teacher Louanne Johnson on the ABC drama Dangerous Minds during the 1996-1997 season and was nominated for the Screen Actors Guild Award in 1998 and 1999 for her portrayal of Mary-Elizabeth M. E. Sims on the Lifetime series Any Day Now, which ran from 1998 to 2002. Her other television credits include GCB, The Fosters, Young Sheldon, Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage, and Best Medicine.
