Anne Rice: podcast appearances and interviews

Anne Rice was an American author known for her work in Gothic fiction, erotic literature, and Bible fiction. She was best known for writing The Vampire Chronicles and her adaptation of the first volume into the film Interview with the Vampire. Born in New Orleans in 1941, she spent her early years in the city before relocating to Texas and later moving to California, including San Francisco and Berkeley. Rice's professional writing career began with the publication of Interview with the Vampire in 1976. Throughout her life, she explored various religious and philosophical beliefs, initially raised in an observant Catholic family, becoming an agnostic as a young adult, briefly returning to Catholicism in the mid-2000s, and later identifying as a secular humanist. Her books have sold over 100 million copies, making her one of the best-selling authors of modern times. She was married to poet and painter Stan Rice for 41 years until his death in 2002, and they had two children, Michele and Christopher. Rice also authored books such as The Feast of All Saints and Servant of the Bones. Her work in erotic fiction was published under the pen names Anne Rampling and A. N. Roquelaure. She passed away in 2021.
