Andy Smith, born January 9, 1968, is an American entrepreneur, start up advisor, and author. He is the founder and chief executive officer of StrategiQ. Smith has contributed to discussions on social media's impact on social change, notably co-authoring The Dragonfly Effect with his wife, Dr. Jennifer Aaker. The book explores how social media platforms like Twitter facilitate the connection and mobilization of groups that drive global change, and has been described by the New Yorker as a pioneering work at the intersection of social media, marketing, and psychology. In addition to his writing, Smith has been involved in venture capital activities related to emerging technology trends. In 2014, he partnered with Jay Adelson to establish Center Electric, a venture capital firm focused on leveraging the expansion of the Internet of Things.
